Why is the price of sex toys in India higher than USA & Europe?

The reason is simple.

Due to complex import process & expensive duties & brokerage charges that we incur in India, when we import them from US, Europe & China.

The landed cost of adult toys in India usually ends up being 4-5x the cost we purchase in wholesale or direct from manufacturer abroad, the reasons & calculations are detailed below:

- International shipping: Usually we ship our consignment from the US to India through DHL & Fedex. The international shipping costs are high with these couriers more so post COVID, pricing has increased worldwide due to higher demand + increase in labor & material costs.

- Customs duties: The total import duties we pay on our shipments average 125% of the declared value (some of the highest in the World) and these includes customs duties, IGST, misc taxes and various other fees that are collected by Govt. of India for allowing to import this product category. These have gone up from being 20-40% to now 120-130% in last 3 years because the government is discouraging international imports and trying to persuade Indian citizens to buy products Made in India, to advance the 'Make-in-India' agenda.

- Broker charges: These charges are paid to a specialized group of agents, who handle all the necessary paperwork, certifications, licensing and regulatory compliances to make these imports happen. If not for them, it is near to impossible to import XX products in India due to the complexities of processes and irrational embargos implemented by custom authorities. These costs are the biggest chunk of the overall price (generally 2/5 of the cost of the product you pay) you see on our site. The advantage we have is that our customers identity is NEVER disclosed and your privacy is super secure throughout the entire process.

- Domestic shipping and admin costs: The last mile delivery costs include our administrative costs for running operations which covers quality control, warehousing & discreet packaging, business operations & customer service AND domestic courier shipping, to deliver the order safely to your door. This makes up about 1/5 of the total price of the product.

For example, if the price of a product is $100 in the US, by time it reaches India, it will end up being $400-$500

1. International Shipping = $75-$100

2. Customs duties+taxes = $125-$150

3. Broker charges = $125-$150

4. Domestic shipping and admin costs = $50-$75

5. Our profits before discounts: $25

Total Landed costs in India = $400-$500

The sum total of these costs end up making the product 4-5x higher in India than rest of the world. We are aware that some international online stores may claim they ‘ship worldwide’ including India, but we do not recommend purchasing from any sites unless they 100% GUARANTEE complete custom clearance and door delivery to you.

We have seen and heard many customers take this risk, had their orders confiscated at Customs in India and ended up receiving show-cause notices from the department asking to show up to explain why they imported a ‘prohibited’ obscene product in India. The sellers, under these circumstances, will fold hands and will be unable to assist with clearance or refunds, since they claim they have already shipped the consignment and they are relieved of their responsibilities.

For the time being, sex toys and adult products will stay as a specialized commodity in India until the import restrictions are relaxed or we manufacture them in India, which is also a process we have invested in to match up International standards of quality, hygiene and packaging.

How do I apply my promotional code/redeem a coupon?

After you add the product to cart, proceed to check out and there on the second stage you can enter your alpha-numerical code where it says 'Enter your gift card #/Promotion code', and click 'Submit'.

The cart will be updated after recalculating the new subtotal. After that you can continue with payment page and submit the order.

I forgot to add a promotional code to my order?

We thank you for your purchase with us and sorry to hear that you forgot to apply a Promo code. Our system does not allow us to make any manual changes to the order once placed so we cannot retroactively apply the code.

If an item is out of stock online, how do I order it?

In cases that we are sold out of any sex toys or any other items that you wish to purchase, just EMAIL us the link to that product page. We will ruffle some feathers at our end and try to expedite the restocking process from US warehouse. How do I check the status of my order / track my order?

You can check the status of your order in 4 different ways:

1. Sign in > My account > Order history> Order # and then clicking the appropriate tracking link.

2. Check for TRACK MY ORDER in the footer and enter your email address and the order number in digits, ex: 123456, and the app would display the order status.

3. You can also click the TRACK NOW options in the 'shipping confirmation' email you received. If you haven't received an email yet, most likely your order/package has not shipped yet.

4. If none of the above work, just contact us via email and we will check in the system and get back to you with your order status.

Can I PICK UP my order instead of having it deliver to my home/office?

Yes, of course you can!

At time of placing your order, select WILL PICK UP under delivery preference page and your order will be submitted as WILL PICK UP order. When we ship your order, it will arrive at the courier office closest to your pincode/address. You will also receive notifications via email/call from the courier to come and pickup your package. Make sure to take a valid ID to the courier office to collect the package.

Why did I receive a partial order?

This can happen for two reasons:

1. If during placing your order, you selected 'SHIP WHAT'S IN STOCK ' to receive your order quicker, then we ship you what we have in stock. The rest of the pending order is generally fulfilled within 14-21 business days after that.

2. We may have shipped partial orders so as to expedite delivery by shipping what was in stock in India and will notify you of the status of the remainder of the order via email.

However, if you specified that you need them all together and in spite of that you received a partial order, we apologize for that mistake, please do contact us via email and we will figure this out for you.

Will I have to worry about customs dept knowing my info?

Never.

To ensure your privacy, we import the consignment in our name, your information is NEVER disclosed at the time of import.

When the master consignment ship from our USA warehouse, it clears customs in India under our company name, and ONLY after its safely imported and arrived at our India warehouse, we print and paste your address label to ship it through local courier to you.

So in summary, NO, your information is very PRIVATE in our system and never shared with customs.

How long will it take to receive the order?

Usually 2-5 business days when you opt for FREE SHIPPING. If you selected 24 hours shipping (offered in some metros) it arrived before end of NEXT business day as long as order was paid and submitted by 4pm IST the current day.

If you purchased a product that is being shipped from the US, it will take 21-30 biz days to deliver to you.

When its a US SHIP product/order or we are out of stock and have to restock, sometimes there can be a delay due to customs clearance or shipping delays, under such situations we do our best to expedite the delivery but all circumstances may not be under our control. We do guarantee the delivery and we will keep you posted and follow through till the delivery is completed.

We ship to Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Jordan and a few other countries as long as we do not violate any local laws.

We like to remind you to choose DHL/Fedex option for reliable delivery that can be guaranteed by us. How will my order arrive? How will the order be packaged?

Can I return the product after I opened the package?

Unfortunately NOT.

After you opened the package, it becomes unfit for SALE as the hygiene seal of the product is broken and it cannot be sold to anyone else.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes you can cancel your order within 24 hours of placing the order, subject to it not being shipped from our warehouse and subject to the following terms and conditions as described in details here.

If you wish to cancel your order after the order is placed please submit it via email ONLY and get an acknowledgement from us. If we get the cancellation request within 24 hours of your order confirmation and the order is not shipped, we should be able to cancel your order and submit your payment for refund subject to the below restocking fees.

Once cancellation request is submitted, please allow 24-48 hours for us to complete the cancellation process and 4-7 working days for the refund (subject to restocking fees listed below) back to the Original Form of Payment/Store Credit/Gift Card.

RESTOCKING FEES: Any acceptable cancellations requests made within 24 hours will attract 10% restocking fees, unless the refund is made in form of a Store Credit/Gift Card. These fees are deducted to cover administrative costs for receiving and canceling order, warehouse administration required to cancel order and restock products.

Do the products on IMBesharam.com have a warranty?

YES, Most of them have.

Depending on the brand and type of products, the warranty can range from 30 days (for some consumables) to a YEAR (for MOST adult toy brands) Some brand like Satisfyer even offer 10 years warranty.

The process to claim the warranty differs from brand to brand, and may have to be claimed directly with them. We will assist you with Warranty Claim as long as you file it within 15 days of Delivery. Beyond 15 days, we ask you to reach out to the brand directly along with a proof of purchase from us, and they will be able to assist you with filling a WARRANTY claim.

The product in my order was received in DAMAGED condition

No Problem. We will figure this out.

Make sure you followed the instruction as shown on the RED sticker of your package, which required you to take a video when you open the box. This video is SUPER mandatory to investigate the issue and file a claim on your behalf to get a replacement or refund from the courier company.

After you share the details of the damage, pictures and videos with us, we will investigate, get to the bottom of this with your co-operation and figure out a solution that can be either replacement, file a claim and get a refund or any other options available to us under those circumstances.

How long does it take for the REFUND to be received?

Usually 7-10 business days after it has been processed.

If paid via credit card, and after we have processed your order, you can expect the refund within 7-10 business days, depending on how fast your bank processes it.

If paid via UPI, we will process the refund in 3-5 business days and you should receive this instantly.

If paid via BharatX or Fastrr/Decentro, these are our finance partners and they usually take 7-10 business days to process refunds.

Which is your return/exchange policy?

We offer a 7 days Return Period to return any products purchased on IMBesharam.com subject to the following terms & conditions:

If for any reasons you are unsatisfied with your order after it arrives, do not like how it looks or have any other concerns, No Problem. You can return it or exchange for something else you like. Just make sure you read the below and simply put, please DO NOT open the seal or the package of the product.

#1 DO NOT OPEN THE PRODUCT PACKAGE. If the product is opened or the seal is broken, we are UNABLE TO ACCEPT the return. Why: Adult products are a specialty commodity used in and for the intimate parts of our body, and because of that reason they have to have a hygiene seal and always be untouched. Once opened, the hygiene seal is invalidated and the product can no longer be sold to a new user. For this reason, and due to the complexity of imports of these products in India, we cannot accept a return if the product package is opened or tampered with or the hygiene seal is altered. There are NO exceptions offered to this CONDITION.

#2 SUBMIT the return request immediately, latest within 7 days* of the delivery.
*7 days period starts from the day order was delivered, being day 1, and ends at 11.59pm on the 7th calendar day from the delivery date.

#3 RESTOCKING FEES: Due to the specialized nature of the product, all acceptable return requests that confirm the above conditions will attract 25% restocking fees. These fees pays towards two way shipping costs, payment gateway charges that do not get refunded back to us, and the administrative costs of managing this returns process.

PS: You can save 10% on restocking fees if you accept the refund back as store credit. In this case the restocking fees would only be 15% and you can use this credit or share with friends. They never expire and are fully transferable.

#4 EXCHANGE: In instance you are only looking to exchange the products, you will be responsible for the price difference and two way Rs999 shipping costs. In case the new product is lessor value, you will get a store credit for the difference.

#5 Dead on Arrival: If the product you received is unfortunately not working, defective or dead on arrival, you have to notify us within 24 hours of delivery. Preserve everything you got in the order, the box, the product packaging, any accessories as is. All these may be needed to be captured in a video to file a claim with our vendors/manufacturers. Continue with the process of filling the Return Request below.

PS: In case at time of delivery, the order package or the box appears to be tampered or mishandled, WAIT. Make sure to RECORD A VIDEO OF THE UNBOXING of of that tampered courier box, to show label, the box and contents inside it. Thisvideos are also required by our courier partners to support returns or exchange claims as an evidence and to eliminate any courier mischief, mishandling or tampering.

PS: If upon collecting such faulty product, our warehouse team found it to be functional and working fine, we will have to ship it back to you after collecting re-shipping fees of Rs999 to cover for the two way shipping costs.

PS: Any DOA (dead on arrival) claims not filed within 24 hours are NOT covered by our 15 days limited warranty policy.

Which is your order cancellation policy?

24 Hours Cancellation Policy

We offer a 24-hour Cancellation Policy to cancel any orders you place with us, subject to the following terms & conditions:

1. Within 24 Hours + Order NOT SHIPPED: If you wish to cancel your order after the order is placed please submit it this form ASAP. If we get the cancellation request within 24 hours of your order confirmation and if the order is not yet shipped, we should be able to cancel the order and process the refund subject to the below restocking fees.

Restocking Fees: All cancellations requests matching the above condition will attract 10% restocking fees if refunded back to the original form of payment OR zero restocking fees if refunded as store credit/gift card. These fees are deducted to cover administrative costs for processing cancellations, restocking products as well as non refundable payment gateway fees.

REFUND OPTIONS:
a. Partial refund back to original payment form (-less 10%)
b. Full refund as StoreCredit / GiftCard.

PS: For COD orders refund of the PARTIAL PAYMENT can only be offered as StoreCredit / GiftCard.

2. Within/over 24 Hours but order HAS SHIPPED: If we receive the cancellation request within OR post the 24 hour period but the order HAS ALREADY SHIPPED, we may still try to cancel the order. This request has to be determined on a case to case basis, depending on if the order has shipped or if it can be RTO'd (return to origin) or it may need you to ship it back to us.

We offer a 15 days Warranty period to replace any defective or malfunctioning products purchased on IMBesharam.com subject to the following terms & conditions:

In very rare cases, if the product you received has a defect, or it malfunctions or stops functioning within 15 days of receipt, please accept our apologies for this inconvenience if this may happen to you. In such cases package the products, all accessories and packaging back in the box we delivered to you, and submit the below Warranty Claim form. After we get your completed warranty request form, we have to do a troubleshooting call (as mandated by brands we stock) to determine the actual reason. In many cases after troubleshooting, we have found the issue was resolved (for ex: customers found on the call they didn't place the battery correctly, or did not press the button hard enough, or sometimes it just starts working after a hard reset). If it is determined by our team that the product visually appears to have an issue, we will make arrangements to get it picked up at the earliest available time, and when it arrives back at the warehouse, we will troubleshoot it again.If upon physical inspection and check, we determined the product was indeed faulty/defective/malfunctioning, we will process it as a Warranty Claim. Thereafter, it will lead to one of the 3 options:

1. If we found no issue upon testing at the warehouse, we will have to ship it back to you after collecting Rs999 re-shipping fees. This fee pays for the two way shipping charges.

If its shipping from abroad, it may take 14-21 business days to arrive and then we can deliver it to you. The Replacement product may come in non consumer packaging which could be a poly bag or white box. This is how the manufacturers usually replace under a warranty claim.

PS: The only option offered in case of a qualified 15 days warranty claim is a FREE REPLACEMENT. We are unable to exchange it for another product or offer a refund.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES - Warranty Claim AFTER 15 days.

IMbesharam.com does not claim to extend the manufacturers warranty and expressly states that any Warranty Claims post 15 days of delivery will have to be handled directly by the manufacturer/brand. In most cases the manufacturer will assist you with warranty replacement. In such cases, you will have to bear the costs of international shipping, import costs such as duties, taxes and any brokerage fees charged by agents.

We are able to provide this service and engage our logistics channel to process the import, clearance, pay duties and taxes on your behalf and hire agents to clear the consignment. The costs for these total to about 60-70% of the value you originally paid for the product. If you would like to engage our services to file the warranty claim and import the approved warranty replacement on your behalf, we will be happy to do that at no extra cost, just select the appropriate option in the warranty claim form. We will however have to collect these import costs from you after the warranty claim is approved. Which is your COD policy?

Good News - We have recently upgraded our logistics as a result we are able to offer No FEES +100% RISK-FREE COD as a payment option. Thats Great News Actually!
Context of Fees: We take responsibility of International Shipping as well as India Customs Clearance so your order arrives to you timely and discreetly while we take care of everything in the backend. Due to the complexities of the cross border imports, this COD service incurred additional charges (paid to DHL and BlueDart respectively for International COD facility). Earlier these fees were being collected from customers, but post May 2024 we have been able to re-negotiate and now we will absorb the fees ourselves so you do not have to pay for it.

However to eliminate the risks of fraudulent COD orders, we will continue to collect upfront partial payment of your order, which will be 10% of your order value after discounts, before we can process your order. Incase you have selected a upgraded shipping option, those shipping charges are due upfront as well.

What is PARTIAL PAYMENT?

The Partial Payment is 10% of the order value, after discounts + shipping charges if any, and it is due at time of placing the order.

For Example: If the order total after discounts is Rs.2000, you will be asked to pay Rs200 (10%) at time of placing the order and the balance Rs1800 will be due at time of delivery. The Partial Payment NEEDS to be collected at time of placing your order and can be paid via the UPI method (details in the checkout) Once we get this payment, we are able to process and ship out your order. The BEST way to travel with a sex toy is by following these simple steps:

Just grab the toy and place it inside an aluminium foil (to defer XRAY scans) and place another similar shape product like a hair styler or curler, or an electronic toothbrush or any product that has similar cylindrical shape and form. Roll them both inside the foil and close foil by pressing both edges. Now place this between various hard form products in your checked in bag, beside/above/below your toiletries bag or make up bag or any electronic appliances like headphones etc. The idea is to mask it between and with products so the shape of it is not conspicuous during an XRAY scan. Once packed you should be OK in 99% cases. Just keep charger in separate part of bag and DO NOT carry any packaging or literature.

We offer a 7 days Return Period to return any products purchased on IMBesharam.com subject to the following terms & conditions:

If for any reasons you are unsatisfied with your order after it arrives, do not like how it looks or have any other concerns, No Problem. You can return it or exchange for something else you like. Just make sure you read the below and simply put, please DO NOT open the seal or the package of the product.

#1 DO NOT OPEN THE PRODUCT PACKAGE.
If the product is opened or the seal is broken, we are UNABLE TO ACCEPT the return. Why: Adult products are a specialty commodity used in and for the intimate parts of our body, and because of that reason they have to have a hygiene seal and always be untouched. Once opened, the hygiene seal is invalidated and the product can no longer be sold to a new user. For this reason, and due to the complexity of imports of these products in India, we cannot accept a return if the product package is opened or tampered with or the hygiene seal is altered. There are NO exceptions offered to this CONDITION.

#2 SUBMIT the return request immediately, latest within 7 days* of the delivery.

*7 days period starts from the day order was delivered, being day 1, and ends at 11.59pm on the 7th calendar day from the delivery date.

#3 RESTOCKING FEES:
Due to the specialized nature of the product, all acceptable return requests that confirm the above conditions will attract 25% restocking fees. These fees pays towards two way shipping costs, payment gateway charges that do not get refunded back to us, and the administrative costs of managing this returns process.

PS: You can save 10% on restocking fees if you accept the refund back as store credit. In this case the restocking fees would only be 15% and you can use this credit or share with friends. They never expire and are fully transferable.

#4 EXCHANGE:
In instance you are only looking to exchange the products, you will be responsible for the price difference and two way Rs999 shipping costs. In case the new product is lessor value, you will get a store credit for the difference.

#5 Dead on Arrival:
If the product you received is unfortunately not working, defective or dead on arrival, you have to notify us within 24 hours of delivery. Preserve everything you got in the order, the box, the product packaging, any accessories as is. All these may be needed to be captured in a video to file a claim with our vendors/manufacturers. Continue with the process of filling the Return Request below.

PS: In case at time of delivery, the order package or the box appears to be tampered or mishandled, WAIT.  Make sure to RECORD A VIDEO OF THE UNBOXING of of that tampered courier box, to show label, the box and contents inside it. Thisvideos are also required by our courier partners to support returns or exchange claims as an evidence and to eliminate any courier mischief, mishandling or tampering.
